Caprice roller skating club. Sunnydale Leisure Centre,
Shildon, County Durham, DL4 2EP, UK.
Last updated 27/05/2007

Caprice roller skating club exists for skaters of all ages and abilities to learn , enjoy, compete in and perform artistic roller skating. Our chief instructor Ian Watkins was runner up in the world championships three years running and has also trained a world champion. Our students regularly achieve high places in competition and for a bit of fun we have a regular Christmas show. However we don't expect all our members to be high acheivers. We also have two FARS (Federation of Artistic Roller Skating) qualified basic skills instructors Melanie and John who will be delighted to look after skaters of any age or ability. All our instructors are trained in child protection by FARS and are CRB checked. We meet most Saturdays at Shildon, County Durham, U.K. in the Sunnydale Leisure Center at 2.30 pm and most every other Sundays at 2.30pm. Please ring for confirmation. For more info ring John on 01325 314634 or mob. 07788725871 or email

Hope to see you soon
John

Tyne and Tees Tournament
A very enjoyable weekend was had by all again at last years Tyne and Tees Tournament held at Newton Aycliffe Leisure Center on July 22nd and 23rd. Caprice skaters did very well coming away with lots of trophies. Ashley Firbank won six solo events and two couples events with her brother Adam. To finish the competition Caprice members took part in the club show event and despite excelent performances by three other clubs the Shildon team were awarded gold medals for the third year running. The parents and skaters wish to express their gratitude to Ian Watkins for all the time and effort he dedicates to the sport without whitch, non of the results would be possible.

Stratford Park Skating Club have kindly invited Caprice members to participate in a roller dance competition to be held on Saturday, September 22nd, 2007. The closing date for applications to take part is Friday, July 20th 2007. Skaters are welcome to enter as many events as possible including those above their standard. For more info and application forms please contact me, John.

Wanted
If any members have any information, pictures, dates of forthcoming events etc, which I could put on the website please get in touch with me John on 01325 314634 or mob. 07788725871 or email johns@jparlour.fslife.co.uk
Due to a recent influx of new members we are now a little short of skates, so if you have any you don’t need any more we would be very pleased to receive them. I may even be able to part with a little money for anything decent.
